Scott Pape wrote what I consider an excellent book a decade or so ago called – The Barefoot Investor. I highly suggest a download and read it now, on the flight over, again once in Australia and definitely before you make any financial investments.

The book covers the ASX, mortgages and other areas that I won’t be deep diving into. It explains the sneaky methods Aus banks use to debt trap you, the evil side of paying interest and why Australians have the biggest houses and garages in the world to hoard all their ‘stuff’.

Another book is the 4 hour work week from Tim Ferris, its quite old now but his explanations of Paretos 80/20 Principle, how to make other people stop using email as chat. Reduce, automate, eliminate steps in a process and open up bottle necks in information flow seriously helped me in the ADF.

Lastly is Die With Zero (Getting all you can from your money) from Bill Perkins. This really helped me be a better parent and understand the health/wealth principle. Not waiting to do my bucket list things and give my children more younger to support their education and financial goals.
